Winchester In Team Of The Week (2/3/17)

Winchester In Team Of The Week (2/3/17)

Cheltenham Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Carl Winchester in the one nil victory over Carlisle United in midweek was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Winchester was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Like Bury, Cheltenham also picked up a third straight win in midweek, picking up a 1-0 win against promotion-chasing Carlisle United. Winchester was key in winning the midfield battle as the Robins made light of the Sky Bet League Two standings, and they got their reward with Danny Wright`s late winner.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Winchester for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Karl Darlow (Newcastle United), Will Nightingale (Wimbledon), Charlie Mulgrew (Blackburn Rovers), Ryan Edwards (Morecambe), Tom Pett (Stevenage), Louis Dodds (Shrewsbury Town), Callum Styles (Bury), Carl Winchester (Cheltenham Town), Ricky Holmes (Charlton Athletic), Adebayo Akinfenwa (Wycombe Wanderers), Lewis Alessandra (Hartlepool United).

Manager - Kevin Nolan (Notts County).
