Brown Departs For The SPL

Goalkeeper Scott Brown has now decided his future and officially declined the deal that was on the table for him from Cheltenham, and he'll now move to Scotland and start a new chapter of his career in the Scottish Premier League with Aberdeen.

The 29 year old has spent a decade at Cheltenham, making 287 appearances for the club.

Speaking to the Official Site Brown admitted it was a tough decision to have made, but he knows it's a fantastic opportunity for him and it's one he couldn't really turn down.

'It was such a difficult decision, I couldn't turn the opportunity down to be involved at a club like Aberdeen and to work with Derek McInnes and Jim Leighton on a full time basis. It's an opportunity that rarely comes around but Cheltenham Town will always be the result I look our for first and whenever I'm back I will be watching.'

Brown goes on to credit the fans, saying that over the last decade they have been 'brilliant' with him and he's loved every minute of us, and as well as thanking everybody at the club he also picked out backroom boys Steve Book and Ian Weston because on a personal level they have been great for him.

Brown says that he certainly won't rule out a return to Cheltenham in the future, where hopefully he'll be able to show the fans that move was the right decision and they can see how much he has improved in the time away from us, but on that score we'll have to see what the future brings won't we.
