Yates - No Underestimating Wycombe
Manager Mark Yates has said that despite the run of results Cheltenham are on at the moment, we won't be underestimating Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night.
Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer looked back firstly on the Torquay victory in saying.
'A win is a win and it was needed to put even more distance between ourselves and Torquay. In the first half we were average at best and we lacked belief and energy, but I thought that came in the second half and we were pretty good.'
Yates goes on to say that he felt we should've ended the game with a slightly bigger goal margin, and he felt we has a caste iron penalty shout when Byron Harrison went down in the box, but again 'a win is a win' and for him at this stage of the season results are more important that our performances but he can take the positives from how we responded in the second period.
As for Wycombe the gaffer describes them as a decent club with a lovely ground and he credits their gaffer Gareth Ainsworth for doing a good decent job with them on the pitch in what has been a strange year in the league.
'They have had a couple of good results of late and you have got to be wary of that because they aren't a bad side. They can be a threat and they've nicked some good results when it looked like they were going to be dragged into it, but like Torquay, they will be scrapping and fighting for their lives.'
Yates again says that we have to learn the lessons from our last match because to him in the first period it was pretty clear Torquay wanted the result more than we did until we stepped up so he's looking for us to have a much brighter start tomorrow evening.
Following the match last weekend we also have no real fresh injury concerns with Yates saying that the players have come through it well although we do have a few knocks and niggles but nothing that should overly affect his team selection tomorrow.
