Yates - We Will Turn This Around
Mark Yates has spoken of his belief that Cheltenham will turn their fortunes around ahead of the game against AFC Wimbledon this weekend.
Speaking to the Official Site as we prepare for our next league encounter, the manager admits he can't gloss over the fact that it's been a pathetic start to the season for Cheltenham, especially based on the standards we set for ourselves last campaign, but he remains positive and has faith in the players that they will turn this around and get our season back on track properly in the coming weeks.
'We've got to stop kidding ourselves, stop gifting the opposition goals, improve our concentration and improve everything to be honest. We're more than capable and we're not out of anything. We have got to work damn hard to make sure it's right and pull out all the stops to make sure we get up and running and back to being strong and competitive.'
Yates admits, again especially compared to last season, that our goals against record at the moment is very alarming, but it's not like teams have been battering us, it's been moments of stupidity and mistakes that have been costing us - although to be fair there have been some large losses this season in the league.
As for the injury to Troy Brown, Yates admits that he won't be rushing him back even though he feels we desperately need his influence back on the pitch. Thankfully though our injury list is looking healthier so he's hoping to have a few more options available come the weekend.
