All Change On The Loan Front

Bristol City defender James Wilson has joined Cheltenham on an initial one month loan spell, whilst Ryan Inniss has returned to Crystal Palace.

Unfortunately for Inniss, despite being relatively impressive during his time so far at the club, he has picked up an injury and has returned to his parent club for treatment.

Following this, Mark Yates has moved quickly to secure the services of Bristol City's 24 year old defender Wilson as we are short for cover at the moment.

Yates did say it was a shame because Inniss is likely to be out for a while, and had we had better options and less injuries ourselves he could've waited for him to be fit again, but with how things stand Cheltenham can't afford to do that at the moment.

He's a former Welsh U21 international and has previously had experience in the Championship, and City are hoping he can get a good run of games whilst he's out.

Yates told the Official Site that Wilson is somebody he'd tried to get in a few times previously so he was absolutely delighted that a deal could be done for him.

'I haven't been able to (bring him in) due to him being close to the first team so it's great to have him here and he'll go straight into the team. I'm happy with that.'

Wilson came through the Bristol City Academy and he's made 35 appearances for the club so far, but he hasn't featured so far this season. He's also had two loan spells out at Brentford, where he made 30 appearances for them.
