Penn Signs New Deal

Russell Penn has put pen to paper on a new two year deal at the club and it has been announced that he will be our captain next season.

The 27 year old midfielder made 51 appearances last season and he told the Official Site that he was always going to sign the contract and remain at the club, it was just a few bits and bobs that needed some attention.

'It's all finalised and I'm happy to say I'll be here for the next two years at least. Being made captain was a big part of why I signed because I've enjoyed having the armband and I think it has improved my game. The main reason I signed was because I have loved every minute with this club.'

Mark Yates did say that the contract when offered had been verbally agreed, so he didn't have any worries when it came to Penn remaining with us either.
