Feel A Little Disappointed, Then Move On

Feel A Little Disappointed, Then Move On

Mark Yates has said that everyone can feel a little disappointed following the draw against Bradford which saw us slip to 5th in the table, but then move on, accept it, and focus on our Play Off battle.

Speaking to reporters following the scoreless draw, the manager explained.

'Bradford are a really good side - they got to the final of the Carling Cup - so I'm not too disappointed that we won't be playing them. That's no disrespect to Northampton. We are in the Play Offs and that's a great achievement. The league table doesn't lie and we are right up there with the best. We can be a little bit disappointed because we have not got that third spot, but we need to go back to work and get ready to go again.'

Yates says that any team that gets 20 clean sheets in a season really should go up automatically, but that just shows how tight the league has been all season long.

Yates added on the Official Site that he was now relishing the test of Northampton and the plan for Cheltenham is simple, reach the final and win it.

'We're now looking forward to the play offs. They're two really tough games, we know what's coming and we're prepared for it. We know what we're doing. I'm confident my players will be mentally ready for Thursday night, the plan will come into action straight away.'

Cheltenham have shown we have the beating of Northampton this season, just have to keep that going and make sure we get the right result after 180 minutes.
