'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Positives To Be Taken From 2nd Half

Mark Yates has said he thinks that there are plenty of positives that he can take from our second half performance against Aldershot.

Speaking to the Official Site following the 1-1 draw, the gaffer explained.

'It wasn't the best first half and the worst thing we did obviously was conceding the goal. It was disappointing, but we played with a bit of vigor with a couple of subs, they made a good impact on the game. I'm delighted with the second half but we haven't won the game.'

Yates adds that he feels we could've done better with their opening goal and it's something that they will look at it in training so it doesn't happen again and we are better prepared in future. However, the character of the players and the fact we continued to try and force our way back into the game by playing good football pleased him.

Come the final whistle, he also felt that there was only one side going to win the match, but unfortunately we couldn't take the chances we did create to secure the win, so he'll take the positives that he saw and look to build on them as he doesn't believe we are out of the race with the number of games left to play.
