'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bennett Will Look Back Proudly

Former captain Alan Bennett has called his 18 month spell at Cheltenham as 'short but incredibly sweet' following his move to AFC Wimbledon.

Bennett said he loved his time at the club and all 73 appearances, and it was a hard decision to move on, and despite promising to stay and fight for his place, he knew he wasn't in Mark Yates' plans so he ultimately decided it might be better to not sour his relationship and time here by sticking around.

'It's been an almost perfect year and a half at Cheltenham and I can't express enough gratitude for the way the fans and everyone at the club have been with me.'

Bennett adds that the messages he's received since the move from fans had been really touching.
